Something I have to tell you

Posted on Sat Sep 16th, 2023 @ 9:50pm by Commander Sernia Logan & Lieutenant Rolek'klaz

997 words; about a 5 minute read

Mission: Untested
Location: Chief Tactical/Security Officer's Quarters
Timeline: 18:00 Hours

While Commander Logan sat in her quarters thinking about what the captain has told her and she has considered it for a while. She tapped her combadge =/\= Lieutenant Rolek'klaz. May I see you in my quarters. I uh have something I want to um express. You're not in trouble or anything I just feel like maybe I should express myself to you =/\= She then tapped her combadge off.

Rolek'Klaz was enjoying a hot meal in the officer's lounge. This was one of the things that was rare for him to enjoy years ago. He was nearly done when he got the page from the Commander. "Aye Commander. I am on my way" he tapped his communicator in response before standing up and discarding the scraps of his meal.

A few minutes later after he left the lounge he found himself in front of Commander Logan's quarter's wondering why he had been called over. He had a few ideas, but he didn't really know what it would be. He tapped the chime button and stood with his hands behind his back, waiting for a response.

She heard the chine and stood from her couch in her quarters with her undershirt. She walked up to her door and sorta smiled but then looked serious. She tapped the button to open the door. "Hi."

While he was definitely different from any Jem'Hadar that was apart of the Dominion and he was more lax in his life style, he was still more serious about his duties and life. This was clearly not a matter related to his duties. "Hi" he said with a sort of confused look. "You wanted to see me sir?"

"Yes. But no need to call me sir. This is us not on duty." She said. "but please come in."

The Jem'Hadar stepped into the room, still confused on what his boss wanted.

"Listen Rolek'klaz. I've talked to the captain about a certain thing that I've wanted to tell you but couldn't find the way to tell you." She said.

He raised an eyebrow. "Have I done something wrong Commander?"

She smiles a little bit. "No. And like I said there is no need to call me by my rank. But listen I've talked to the captain and uh I know I've met you for a few days or so. Since I have came on board and having to have met you the first day of my commission on board. I've uh, developed emotions for you." She said with a smile. "With the captain and another fellow commander married. Well uh I've told him that I uh like might have feelings for you." She added.

He didn't know how to respond to that. Jem'Hadar's weren't known for having relationships like this on that scale so naturally, he didn't know how to feel or even if he felt anything other than professional for his boss. He kind of just stood there, unsure how to respond.

"Sorry. That didn't come out right." She said.

He spoke again. "No, it is alright. But Comm-, Sernia, I hope you understand that even if I'm not Dominion, I'm still a Jem'Hadar. We do not really get into this kind of 'thing'. I'm not rejecting you, I just don't simply know you well enough for that yet" he stated, hoping he wasn't hurting her almost immediately. He truly wasn't rejecting her or anything, but he simply wasn't ready for a relationship with anyone, especially his boss as he had never had one since he was a Jem'Hadar.

"But that doesn't mean I won't be willing to try this sort of thing. I'm different from most of my people, at least different than the Jem'Hadar of the Dominion and so I'm willing to try new things. I just need time" he said honestly. His only other concern was the fact that it was a relationship with his boss. But Captain Phoenix and Commander Regan were dating even if their situation was different as they had known each other since they were kids. But he didn't say anything more than what he had already responded with.

"I understand Rolek. I completely understand if you need some time. I'm sorry that I've brought this up. I just didn't know what to say or how to say it.

"It is alright. There is no need to be sorry. I am just new to many aspects of non-Jem'Hadar life" Rolek stated.

"Understandable. I'm new to many aspects of non-bajoran aspects myself. So it's okay."

He nodded and then fell silent, unsure what to say next. He figured he'd need to talk to someone about this situation or ask for advice. He was unsure what to do.

She sat there thinking to herself what did I do to my ownself. Am I okay or am I having a stroke? She thought to herself.

The silence continued. Rolek stood there hoping that something would break the silence.

"Well I mean what do you want to do?" She asked.

"I am honest unsure. I just need time to understand what to do. I don't know how long it will take" he trailed off.

"I understand. Take all the time you need." She said.

"Thank you" he said honestly.

"Of course no problem. I just thought I'd tell you this cause I thought I'd be able to be honest." She said.

Rolek thought up a response and spoke again. "It is greatly appreciated" he stopped for a moment before speaking again realizing he didn't have anything else to say for the moment. "I must go. It was... good talking to you. In time I will let you know 'my head is at' as the human saying goes."

"Of course. Uh I'm going to go to sleep. If you have anything to report back to me. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me." She said.

"Will do Commander" Rolek with a slight smile before turning and leaving out the door he entered from.
